This blog documents one mans four month search to find Birmingham’s best Balti. Why? Because Tom Baker, director of local food social enterprise Loaf, has been invited to take part in a public debate on the origins of the Balti in July 2010, and frankly needs to do some serious research. Using the stomach and a large amount of ignorance as the main research tools, Tom will be tasting his way through Balti after Balti, naan after naan, hoping to discover some of the secrets of the Birmingham balti along the way, and ultimately trying to find Birmingham’s best Balti.
